European tour - meetings with manufacturers
George, Chris and Dan packed a busy series of supplier visits into a three day road trip from Bologna in Italy to Offenburg in Germany (well, Stuttgart really, no airport at Offenburg)
First stop was Carpigiani to visit Andrea and Soufiani and a very impressive factory as well as the Ice Cream museum – and to taste gelato at source. Looking forward to growing this particular relationship!
Claudio and Maurizio at Cimbali/Faema took us on another impressive factory tour – and another fabulous museum – from the earliest coffee machines to a hanging mobile sculpture.
We went on to meet Viktor and Wilco at True Refrigeration in a beautifully refurbished old shoe factory – now housing the European showroom and nicely cool in the European heat wave.
At Franke Foodservice, Daniel, Thomas and Sanja showed us round an impressive complex from warehousing to training facility via smart offices, supplying a huge chunk of EMEA QSR.
Uwe and Markus met us at Hobart Warewashing's European HQ producing 40,000 machines a year from the small to the giant airline catering (appropriately named) flight machines.
"This trip was a nice follow up to the US tour in May where we visited Heritage, True and Taylor – and key to cementing relationships. Looking forward to working more with all you folks."
