The 5th cohort of trainee engineers
The fifth cohort of hopeful trainees attended an assessment day in the MCFT offices at the beginning of May.
300 applications were received for the programme. Following telephone interviews with 100 of the applicants, 30 were invited to attend the assessment day. This included an introduction to the business and a series of aptitude tests to assess their suitability for the role. An engineering background is not essential, but a 'can do' customer focused, solution finding attitude is!
10 offers were made to future engineers - they will start their training programme on 19th June, and 2 were offered places for the upcoming December intake. Some of their reactions include:
Sam - that’s brilliant – thanks very much
Luke – I am really excited to become part of the team
Dan – very excited to be starting a new career and improve with a new company
Aniq - very happy, feel like I have just accomplished the start of my new beginning, I cannot believe I made it through
Reece - Brilliant really happy
Dan - I am struggling to breathe – really happy – thank you too good to be true I am delighted
Ben - brilliant news I am speechless and taken aback – thank you
Adam - really excited buzzing to be part of the family
Service Desk Co-ordinator, Alex sat in and reported back on the day ... he said:
CEO Chris Craggs added:
We have honed the selection process after each assessment centre, and it's getting better each time. It's no accident that many of these trainees go on to leadership roles within the business. Attrition is much lower with engineers that we have taken on and trained through our comprehensive in-house programme.
The engineers 'Technical Academy' was awarded City & Guilds status in 2018.
