Team MCFT takes action against teenage cancer
As a small business, MCFT has a strong social conscience with numerous charitable and community projects taking place throughout the year. Sometimes they're to support a local initiative, sometimes to a supplier or a client who has a compelling need. In addition to the company wide activities, some employees take on personal challenges with the support of their colleagues. For instance, Dutch intern Maarten organised a team to take part in the January Winter Walk in London in aid of Alzheimer’s Society.
Sometimes the cause is much more personal. Just before Christmas, Service Desk Co-ordinator, Alex Moppett had some devastating news about his sister who was diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma. He decided to take action:
1) January - Hair shaved off
2) February - Tandem Sky Dive
3) March - Surrey Half Marathon
4) April - Royal Surrey Hospital to Loftus Road Cycle - 33.4 miles
5) June - Cotswold Way 100km Challenge(Walk)
6) July - Tough Mudder
7) August - Three Peaks Challenge
I have chosen to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust & Lymphoma Action.
Dates will be confirmed ASAP and keep tracking the progress of each challenge.
I have targeted £2,100 as 2100 people are diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma each year.”

It comes as no surprise to anyone here that his colleagues have embraced his challenge, both by donating to the cause and by joining in with activities of their own!
Engineer, David Bailey (known in certain circles as ‘Bomber Bailey’) is taking on the fight and says:
On Valentine’s Day, Customer Service Apprentice Harry brought cakes that he’d made into the office for his colleagues to buy, all in aid of the cause.
It’s this sort of team spirit that makes us very proud to have created a culture where people genuinely want to help and support each other.
Alex’s next trick is to jump out of a plane. Now that’s dedication!
