Family day out at MUFC
Some of the MCFT team enjoyed a fantastic day out at Maidenhead United Football Club at the weekend when they played Portsmouth. Extra exciting as the match was televised on Sky! It was a real family affair with Colin, Paul B, Mark B and his son Dylan, Colin and his son Lucas with a friend, George, James, Maarten, Ellen with her dad. It was also an opportunity to play “Spot the MCFT advertising hoardings” around the ground.
Before the match there was a minute’s silence as it was Remembrance Weekend. The players faced each other with heads bowed in the sunshine as the ground fell silent. There were also special edition shirts (smartly modelled by Dylan, Mark’s son).
Despite the weather forecast the first half was bathed in sunshine, and those that had brought coats shrugged them off whilst hoping for a goal to be scored. At half time there was no joy, but shortly after that the heavens opened and coats, hats and hoods were quickly donned. Portsmouth started scoring with a final result of 4-0 to Portsmouth.
Shame for Maidenhead, but it was a great team outing enjoyed by all
