The strength of the wolf is in the pack
MCFT is happy to announce to have raised £2,500 for the Borne Charity over recent months! Borne is a medical research charity based in Imperial College School of Medicine‘s facilities at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. Their aim is to identify the causes of premature birth to save lives, prevent disability and create lifelong health for mothers and babies.
World Cup-winning rugby star Will Greenwood brought the cause to our attention, through our close relations with Maidenhead Rugby Club. In an effort to support his cause, the company pledged to raise funds through a multitude of sports-driven fundraisers such as: swimming competitions, football matches and much more.
A team of our strongest: Dan Harfield, Tim Hendry, Alex Wilson, and Dan Pryor actually participated in the Wolf Run which is a hardcore 10k run across raw natural terrain, including open ground, woodland, lakes & thick mud. The group of four completed the run in 1h 45min and raised over £500! Will Greenwood came over to meet the group after to sign one of their T-Shirts!
“Never knew being in so much pain was so much fun! Great cause to be running for, it drives you to go the extra mile.” – Dan Pryor
It may look fun seeing them go down the slide, but the freezing water they landed in gave the group instant hypothermia…
“That water was so extremely cold, I’m never doing that again without a wetsuit!” – Dan Harfield
Greenwood visited the company during our company’s quarterly COMMS meeting in May to thank all who participated in the fundraising. He even participated by making our staff bacon and sausage sandwiches.
The Borne Charity is still looking for additional funds to support their cause. See how you can help here https://www.borne.org.uk/support-us/
